Children and Eye Care

Did you know that up to 1 in 5 children have an undetected eye problem and that only 19% of children have the regular free eye tests that they’re entitled to?

It’s never too early to have your child’s eyes tested, and as they don’t need to be able to read or speak, they can be checked regularly from birth. We usually recommend eye tests from the age of 3 upwards as it’s important to have them checked before they go to school or start to read.

Problems with vision can affect their behaviour, schoolwork and grades, and they can be labelled as having learning difficulties, when all that they require is an eye test and to have their vision corrected. As most schools no longer offer eye tests, the number of children with undetected vision problems is growing.

If you’re looking to get your child’s eyes tested, we offer free eye tests to all children under the age of 16, as well as a selection of free glasses, paid for by an NHS voucher.

Booking an eye test for your child is easy. Simply call us on 01354 652 418 and speak to a member of our friendly team, or visit our book an appointment page and we will call you to confirm your appointment.
