I have been working within the Optics industry for 10 years now, and in that time I have amassed a wealth of knowledge and experience. I have worked for the big names such as Boots Opticians and Specsavers. I have undertaken training at Hinchingbrooke hospital and worked as a hospital optometrist alongside senior consultants. I have also been a clinical tutor to students in Optometry at Manchester University.
I have undertaken further qualifications, that allow me to under all the diabetic retinal screening for March, Doddington, Manea and Wimblington. To date I am the only optometrist within the area to have this qualification.
With the experience I have had, I aim to bring all the good to one place where all can benefit; the Harrison Eyeclinic.
I have worked at the Harrison Eye Clinic for almost 16 years, and during this time I’ve been able to build strong relationships with many of our patients. I enjoy all aspects of my job, but particularly enjoy the medical side of optics; very quickly I realised that this saying is very true, ‘Your eyes ARE the window to the rest of your body’.
I love the feeling I get when I help a patient choose a beautiful new frame. Seeing the instant uplift in the person’s being and face, and seeing them instantly feel better about themselves makes me feel great.
Having worked as a florist for many years, my meticulous nature has helped tremendously in my new job role at Harrison EyeClinic. Most of my time is dedicated to helping diabetic patients when they come for retinal screening.
I am very caring in nature, and love the one on one time I get to spend with people. Knowing that I am helping people maintain good eyesight into their later years, and allowing them to remain independent is wonderful.
